Lindsay Lohan has returned to Long Island to comfort her mother, Dina Lohan, after her brother, Lindsay's uncle, died, the actress said on her Twitter account.

A family spokeswoman told Newsday yesterday that Dina Lohan's brother, Christopher Sullivan, had died but did not provide details.

The actress tweeted Monday morning: "my mom's brother, my uncle - who's amazing, just passed - may he rest in peace."

Mentioning a fellow Long Islander, she added, "Did Billy Joel curse us when he said, 'only the GOOD die young' ?? . . . I don't know how to feel as I'm rushing home to my mom's house after just wrapping work nearly 3 hours ago or less. . . . I feel sick."

Paul Anthony, one of Dina Lohan's three siblings, said through family spokeswoman Stephanie Ovadia, "The family is in mourning. He was a wonderful father to his three children and a fabulous uncle. He was taken too soon and everybody is praying for him."

She said services will be private.

Meanwhile, now that Lindsay is back on Long Island, her father, Michael Lohan, is pressing for her to undergo rehab at the Oheka Castle Hotel & Estate in Huntington.

While a resort might seem an odd choice, Michael Lohan, who is friends with owner Gary Melius, says rehab "has been done at Oheka Castle before. I can't say for who. But Gary has offered the castle to us, and he told us what happened before and how it worked - a team of physicians and individual and group therapy with family. That last part is very important - in every place else she's been, including her last, Cirque Lodge in Provo, Utah, they all said she needed family therapy."

Melius confirms the offer. "On maybe a half dozen occasions, a doctor in Hicksville, Dr. Robert Goldstein, who does [addiction treatment] with some celebrities, has put them here and treated them here.

"We are not a rehab venue," he stresses.

"We're a quiet, secluded place for someone getting one-on-one treatment."
