Actress Lindsay Lohan responded on Twitter Wednesday to claims she scraped a man's knee with her Porsche early Wednesday morning.

"Scrape? This is all a complete lie," she wrote. "I've been at community service. Last night, I attempted to wish a friend happy birthday, which I didn't even get to do because I was freaked out by all of the paparazzi. These false accusations are absurd."

LAPD Sgt. Mark Ro said Lohan was surrounded by photographers as she tried to make a U-turn outside a Hollywood Boulevard club. LAPD Officer Norma Eisenman told the Los Angeles Times that the "Mean Girls" star was trying to avoid the paparazzi when she "brushed" the leg of a man who had left his vehicle to ask Lohan not to bump his car.

Police found no evidence of injury and did not file a hit-and-run report. The man also declined to file a report, although TMZ said he later visited an emergency room and planned to retain an attorney.

"We are confident this matter will be cleared up in the next few days," said Lohan's spokesman Steve Honig.
