Lindsay Lohan to host 'SNL' for 4th time March 3

With her legal troubles now nearly behind her, and with a seemingly new emphasis on her acting career, Lindsay Lohan has been scheduled to host "Saturday Night Live" on March 3. It will be her fourth time helming the live sketch-comedy show and her first time since 2006.

Shortly after "SNL" announced the news on air during a commercial break Saturday, Lohan, 25, tweeted, "SNL! I love @NBC !!!!!!!!!!!!!" About 45 minutes later, soon after the show ended at 1 a.m., "SNL" posted its own tweet: "That's right: March 3rd, @lindsaylohan with musical guest Jack White!! See you then!"

"Lindsay is extremely excited about hosting 'SNL' and working with all the talented cast and writers," Lohan's spokesman, Steve Honig, told Newsday.

Added mother and manager Dina Lohan, "We thank Lorne Michaels for believing in Linds. The tabloids have been harsh and it is behind us now!"

TMZ.com reported Sunday that it was Lohan who had approached "SNL" creator and executive producer Michaels, whom the site said has been fatherly to her through the years, about a return to hosting the show. The actress, raised in Merrick and Cold Spring Harbor, first hosted the show at age 17, on May 1, 2004. She hosted the season 30 finale on May 21, 2005, and then the 601st show, on April 15, 2006.

Lohan is scheduled to end her community service, which originated with 2007 DUI convictions and subsequent probation issues, on March 29. Her next scheduled hearing is Wednesday.

"I've done all my days," Lohan told CNN in an article posted Sunday on the network's website, referring to her shifts at the Los Angeles County morgue. While Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner gave her the option of completing portions of community service ahead of schedule, it was unclear whether Lohan was referring to her days for the month or her remaining days in total.
