Lindsay Lohan treated for asthma attack at NYC hospital

Lindsay Lohan was rushed to the emergency room at The Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan Sunday night with an asthma attack.

"Lindsay was treated and released, and is doing fine," her spokesman, Steve Honig, told Newsday. She received antibiotics and other medication for the lung infection, said TMZ.com, which first reported the incident, and was discharged from the hospital.

Disputing details in the TMZ account, Honig confirmed, "It was asthma." TMZ reported that the "Mean Girls" star had been telling friends during the past several days she believed she had contracted walking pneumonia.

Lohan has had lifelong issues with her lungs. Her mother, Dina Lohan, of Merrick, told Vanity Fair magazine in 2006 that "Lindsay has had bronchial asthma since she was 2."

The actress, who has completed filming the Elizabeth Taylor role in the upcoming Lifetime TV-movie "Liz & Dick," has not commented on her Twitter page.
