Local 'Idol' Rosen to sing anthem at Citi tonight

Merrick's Robbie Rosen will perform the national anthem at Citi Field Friday night when the Mets take on the Philadelphia Phillies. Rosen, 17, who reached the "American Idol" semifinals before being eliminated March 3, will sing at 6:57 p.m., says his mother, Loren Rosen. "The Mets had called 'Idol' right after Robbie [was eliminated] and gave us nine dates to choose from," she told Newsday contributor Frank Lovece. "I thought Mets vs. Phillies would be nice."
