Lower ratings for Stern's debut
Lower ratings during Stern's debutHoward Stern isn't the King of Prime-Time TV. At least not yet. The Nielsen company said Stern's debut last week as a panelist on NBC's "America's Got Talent" drew 10.5 million viewers Monday and 10.6 million viewers Tuesday. That's down sharply from the 15.3 million viewers who watched the season debut last year. Nevertheless, Stern has already generated controversy: on Monday's show, Amir Palmer, a 7-year-old rapper, broke into tears when Stern criticized his performance. Stern, perhaps realizing he may have gone too far, immediately leaped on stage and hugged the boy.
