Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon expecting twins

Nick Cannon announced Thursday on his radio show that he and his wife, Mariah Carey, are expecting twins - and that the president and the first lady were the first to find out. Cannon, 30, had alluded to twins Wednesday at a Toys for Tots Build-a-Bear Workshop, where he told an inquisitive E! News, "It's a touchy issue, because you never want to speak on too much stuff too early, but my wife, at one time, she referred to her stomach as 'they' and that probably wasn't the wrong thing for her to do."
Confirming it Thursday on his WXRK-FM / 92.3 NOW morning radio show, Cannon said, "We are having twins."
He and his wife, pop superstar Carey, 41, had spilled the beans last Sunday to President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama, he continued, saying it had happened backstage at a taping for the TNT cable network's "Christmas in Washington 2010" special, airing Friday.
"They, ironically enough, questioned my wife about, you know, 'So, what are you having, are you having twins?' " Cannon said, "And at this point, she hadn't told anybody anything because doctors advised us to keep it to ourselves until we get further along. And because of the excitement . . . she shared with the president and first lady that we are having twins."
The couple has not announced a due date. Carey announced the pregnancy Oct. 28 on NBC's "Today," revealing she had suffered a miscarriage sometime after she and Cannon married in 2008.
She and Cannon said at the time that they had conceived the twins naturally and hadn't planned to learn the sex of the baby - or, as it turns out, babies.
