Marie Osmond remarries her first husband
More than a quarter-century after their divorce, Marie Osmond and her first husband, motivational speaker Stephen Craig, were remarried Wednesdayin Las Vegas.
"I am so happy and look forward to sharing my life with Stephen, who is an amazing man as well as a great father to my children," the singer, 51, said in a statement. She and Craig, 54, have a son, Stephen, 28. Osmond had seven children, five of them adopted, with second husband Brian Blosil, whom she married in 1986 and divorced in 2007.
Osmond's brother, Jay, told The Salt Lake Tribune that he and many other members of the family did not attend.
"This was a last-minute thing," their brother Donny told "Entertainment Tonight." "Not very many people knew about it. Marie told me so I had to keep it very quiet. She wanted it simple and that's what it was."
"It was our son who got us to kind of be back together," Marie Osmond told "ET," "but [Craig] has been there for me and he's just my best friend, you know, and loves my kids."
Osmond, who was married by Church of the Latter Day Saints general authority Paul H. Dunn at the Jordan River Temple, wore a gown by Emmy Award-winning costume designer Ret Turner, which People magazine said was the same dress she wore on the couple's first wedding day.
