Rape charges against “Glee” star Mark Salling have been dropped, E! News reports.
The news outlet confirms that the Los Angeles District Attorney has withdrawn the case due to insufficient evidence.
A 22-year-old woman, with whom Salling reportedly had a relationship, had alleged that he “continued to pressure her” to have sex even though she wanted to wait until they were married. She ultimately consented to sex, but said that after changing her mind Salling didn’t listen.
Charges were not filed against the actor until April, four years after the alleged incident took place. According to E!, if additional evidence arises, the district attorney said it might reopen the case.
