It was a madhouse in midtown Manhattan yesterday as teen heartthrob Justin Bieber launched his fragrance at Macy's, sparking a frenzy that ended in mass confusion, panic, erroneous reports that the star was attacked and a citation for his security guard, amNewYork reports.

Hundreds of tweens descended on the store and Herald Square to get a glimpse of the follicly blessed "Baby" singer. When Bieber, 17, stepped outside to wave to his "Beliebers" at about 3 p.m., they rushed police barricades, and Bieber's guards tried to hustle him into the store.

A plainclothes officer jumped the metal barricade to help the harried Bieber, but the teen icon shoved him away, thinking he was a crazed fan, reports said.

When the pop star was rushed back into the store, one of his security guards apparently wouldn't get out of the way and was issued a citation for disorderly conduct, police said.

Initial reports, which the police shot down, said that Bieber was accosted by a man in his 40s who hopped the barricade.

The bedlam, however, was too much for two fans, one of whom was wheeled out of Macy's in a special chair by firefighters and another who was given an oxygen mask in an ambulance. A paramedic said they were the only two who needed medical attention.

Still, the launch of his scent, Someday, wasn't a wash for everyone. A lucky 300 or so fans were given tickets to get their picture snapped with Bieber -- after ponying up at least $135 to buy the fragrance, that is.
