McConaughey beams as Alves struts stuff

Front-row, but kind of tucked into a corner at Wednesday night's Red Dress Collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week sat Matthew McConaughey, in dressy mode (for him that means not shirtless and carrying a surfboard). He's the quiet type. Why was he there? "Well, for my lady," he said, referring to Camila Alves, who stunned in a slinky KaufmanFranco number.

His reserve vanished as she walked the runway. The actor left his seat to hold a small video camera almost on the runway to capture every one of Alves' steps. He was beaming and grinning from ear to ear.

It was Glen Cove's own Ashanti, front and center at the BCBG Max Azria show yesterday morning. The star, dressed in animal print BCBG with hair swept up into a tight knot, was serious paparazzi bait. "It's chaotic," she said. "But chaotic in a good way."

As for the impending Valentine's Day gifting possibilities, well Ashanti knows what she wants: "A red ostrich Prada bag. It's impossible to get and on special order." And who would be giving it to her? "Let's just say I know who's gonna get it for me," she said laughing. Hello Nelly?
