Mekhi Phifer files for bankruptcy, report says

Former "ER" star Mekhi Phifer filed for bankruptcy last month, TMZ.com reported Wednesday, citing court documents it had obtained. Phifer, the 39-year-old actor who played Dr. Gregory Pratt on the NBC medical series and appeared this year in the film "Divergent," claimed approximately $67,000 in assets while owing $1.2 million in back taxes, $50,000 in legal bills and $4,500 in back child support. The actor said his expenses were $11,600 per month while his income was $7,500 per month. Among his listed assets were a 12-year-old Segway valued at $1,500, plus a shotgun and two 9 mm pistols.
