The Rolling Stone and soul singer Raphael Saadiq will perform a tribute to Solomon Burke at the Feb. 13 ceremony. Known as the King of Rock and Soul, Burke died in October. Over the years, the Stones have covered Burke's songs, including "Cry to Me" and "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love."
Jagger "asked me not to go into detail about what he's doing, but I think when you see the performance, it will make a lot of sense," show producer Ken Ehrlich told The Associated Press Thursday. "I think it was the idea of the performance that was intriguing to him and really brought him here." (In '86, the Stones were given a lifetime achievement award, and performed on the show via satellite.)
Jagger joins previously announced performers Rihanna, Cee Lo, Gwyneth Paltrow, Eminem, Arcade Fire, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Usher, Lady Gaga, Lady Antebellum and Justin Bieber.
