Teen singer-actress Miley Cyrus has traded her long blond locks for a platinum pixie-punk cut.

"It's happening," she tweeted Sunday afternoon, minutes after posting an image of a partially obscured hairstylist about to cut off her topknot. In response to alarmed reactions from some of her 7.5 million Twitter followers, she quickly added, "If you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all. My hair is attached to my head no one else's and it's going bye bye :)"

Shortly thereafter, the mystery scissors were revealed as those of celebrity hairstylist Chris McMillan, who created Jennifer Aniston's "Rachel" hairdo for "Friends" in the 1990s.

By 9:39 p.m. the deed was done: Cyrus, 19, tweeted a photo of her new 'do with a hugely delighted smile on her face. "Never felt more me in my whole life," she wrote afterward.

Cyrus remained content Monday, tweeting, "Feeling so happy in my skin."

TV viewers may soon get a chance to see her new hair in action on CBS' "Two and Half Men," on which she will guest-star in a multi-episode arc, E! News said Monday. Representatives for Cyrus and for the show had no response.
