Miley Cyrus gives up puppy, tweeting it's 'too soon' after death of beloved dog Floyd

Pop star Miley Cyrus has found a new home for the puppy she was given following the April 1 death of her beloved dog Floyd.

"Moonie, thank you for giving me so much love, comfort, & peace. It's just too soon for me right now," Cyrus tweeted Sunday, referring to the pup her mother, Tish, gave her days after Floyd's death.

Minutes later, when a fan tweeting as "Miley Cyrus News" asked, "Where'd Moonie go?," Cyrus answered, "My friend's mom, who has a tiny pup 4 him 2 play with Molly," the apparent name either of the fan she was addressing or of the other dog.

"After what happened I'm scared 2 have a tiny dog," she explained to the fan. Us Weekly said that while Cyrus has not given details of Floyd's death, some reports suggested a coyote attack.

Cyrus, 21, had broken the news of Floyd's death in an April 2 tweet with a picture of herself and the Alaskan Klee Kai, writing, "I don't wanna say it because I don't want it to be real . . . But my precious baby Floyd has passed away. I am broken."

She added, "I know I don't mean it, but I wish he would've taken me with him. This is unbearable. What am I gonna do without him?"

The "Wrecking Ball" singer has several rescue dogs, but at a Boston concert on April 2, in a moment captured on YouTube, she tearfully told the crowd, "I shouldn't say he was my favorite, but he was my favorite, and he passed away."
