Miley Cyrus dating Patrick Schwarzenegger, reports say

Pop star Miley Cyrus reportedly has begun dating model Patrick Schwarzenegger, son of TV newscaster Maria Shriver and actor and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Us Weekly said Thursday that Schwarzenegger, 21 -- who also goes under his mother's name, as Patrick Shriver -- and Cyrus, who turns 22 on Nov. 23, have been seen together over the past few weeks and have been dating for several months.

People magazine said that the two went with a group of friends to Universal's Haunted Hayride on Oct. 30, while Us added that Cyrus and Schwarzenegger also attended a Halloween event at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, and afterward went to Cyrus' house. Schwarzenegger has an apartment in Los Angeles, People said.

Cyrus' spokeswoman and Schwarzenegger's manager did not return Newsday requests for comment.

Schwarzenegger had told Details magazine in May 2011, in relation to dating that, "My eye . . . is set on Miley." The two, who have been friends for some time, had a brief relationship that year when Cyrus and her on-and-off-again beau, actor Liam Hemsworth, were in a breakup phase, the magazine said.

News accounts in 2012 linked Schwarzenegger to another music star, Taylor Swift. Cyrus became engaged to "The Hunger Games" star Hemsworth in May of that year, but postponed wedding plans and in September 2013 representatives for both stars had confirmed they had broken up for good. She later was linked with "Twilight" actor Kellan Lutz and music producer Mike WiLL Made It, born Michael Len Williams II, who helmed her album "Bangerz."
