Minka: No plan to wed Derek Jeter soon

Actress Minka Kelly says she and Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter are not getting married in the very near term.

"I promise you, I'm not getting married in the next month," the "Friday Night Lights" star told GQ magazine in an interview done in early December and posted online Tuesday, in advance of the February issue. The two have been the subject of marriage rumors for months, including a supposed wedding date at Oheka Castle in Huntington in November.

Kelly, 30, also reiterated that her September exchange with a Delta Air Lines flight attendant - who said the actress' dog could not be in first class with her during takeoff and landing - did not involve phoning Jeter for help. Kelly's attorney said at the time that Kelly had instead called her manager, whom she'd hoped could convince the flight attendant that the dog had been cleared to fly first class. Kelly wound up with the dog in coach for takeoff and landing, the lawyer said.

"Do people think that somewhere in my brain I think Derek can save me from someone telling me my dog can't fly?" Kelly asked GQ. "If that's the way I worked, he would have left me a long time ago."
