Yvette Wilson, the actress who played Andell Wilkerson on "Moesha," has died, according to a TMZ report and E! News confirmed.

The 48-year-old actress had stage four cervical cancer, according to TMZ.

"Unfortunately I can verify Yvette's passing yesterday. She was a good friend, a talented actress and a very funny lady, both on-screen and off," Jeffrey Pittle, a friend of Wilson's, told E! News. "She will be sorely missed, but I'm sure her talent and humor will live on in her legion of fans. It's a small comfort knowing we can still experience Yvette through the work she left behind."

Her former co-star Star Jackson posted a series of tweets late Thursday.

"Oh god .?.?. My heart is soooo unbelievably broken," she posted. "I wanna thank all my tweeties for their prayers but god has chosen to take my sister Yvette home."

After "Moesha" ended in 2001, Wilson continued her same role in the spinoff "The Parkers." She also appeared in the films "House Party 2," "House Party 3" and "Friday," according to People magazine.
