New honor for winner of 'Dancing'
Wounded Iraq War veteran and soap-opera actor J.R. Martinez -- who two weeks ago won the latest edition of "Dancing With the Stars" -- was honored Friday in Palm Beach, Fla., with the Unsung Hero Award for "overcoming devastating injuries to make a full life for himself and in so doing bring the plight of America's three million living disabled veterans into our country's consciousness." The event, philanthropist Lois Pope's 18th annual Lady in Red Gala, helped raise funds for the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial, which will be unveiled in Washington, D.C., in October.
