The estranged wife of "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" star Nick Stahl says she is hopeful of his recovery now that the actor has entered rehab.
"Now that he is safe, it's time to focus back on healing," Rose Murphy Stahl told People magazine Monday.
Stahl, 32, checked himself into a facility on Saturday night, his wife said. She had filed a missing-persons report with the Los Angeles Police Department last Monday after hearing nothing from Stahl since May 9. Stahl has lived apart from her and their daughter, Marlo, 2, since February.
The 30-day rehab stint, at an undisclosed facility, is the culmination of an addiction cycle that Murphy Stahl, 30, said was the worst of her husband's life. She said Stahl had been turning down acting roles for nine months.
" 'How dark it is before the dawn.' I've chanted that a lot in my head. I find comfort in it," she said, telling the magazine that since she and others in her life have also fought addiction, Stahl's pattern was not unfamiliar to her.
"It would be lovely," she added, "if this publicity helped even one other family find recovery."
