Omar Sharif slaps fan at film fest

Doctor Zhivago" film great Omar Sharif, 79, slapped a woman during a red carpet photo session at the third annual Doha Tribeca Film Festival in Qatar Thursday. A video at TMZ.com shows Sharif posing with fans and becoming upset with a woman waiting a turn -- raising his voice at her in Arabic and appearing to give her an audible slap as her back partially blocks the camera. After photographers snap some shots of him solo, Sharif then poses with the woman, who smiles and chats with him. Newsday's attempts to reach his overseas representatives were unsuccessful.
