Actor Orlando Bloom was captured on video Wednesday throwing a punch at pop star Justin Bieber during a heated confrontation in a restaurant in Spain.

TMZ.com posted an apparent cellphone video showing the "Lord of the Rings" star, 37, at a crowded Cipriani in Ibiza, lashing his arm out at Bieber, 20, as others, including two black-shirted men accompanying the singer, separate the duo. It was unclear if the punch made contact. In a second video seconds afterward, Bieber is heard taunting the actor.

The website cited witnesses offering conflicting versions of the encounter, with one claiming Bieber made a rude comment about Bloom's ex-wife, 31-year-old supermodel Miranda Kerr, and another saying Bieber extended his hand to the actor, who rebuffed it, prompting a Bieber remark followed by the thrown punch.

E! News added that Leonardo DiCaprio was dining with Bloom and would not speak to Bieber.

Hours after the encounter, Bieber posted a swimsuit photo of Kerr on Instagram but quickly withdrew it. Kerr and Bloom married in July 2010, but by October 2013 had been "amicably separated for the past few months," the actor's representative said at the time. The couple have a son, Flynn, born in January 2011.

Bloom and Bieber have clashed before, noted E!, which said that after Bieber was seen backstage with Kerr after a Victoria's Secret fashion show in New York in 2012, her lawyers issued a statement saying any speculation about her and the singer was "false and defamatory." In early 2014, the site said, Bloom was befriending Bieber's on-and-off girlfriend, singer-actress Selena Gomez.

Over the past two years, Bieber has been the subject of police investigations over numerous allegations of fighting in Los Angeles, Toronto and, in August 2013, at the South Pointe nightclub in Southampton. Bieber's spokesman had no comment. Bloom's spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request from Newsday.

Wednesday, Bieber posted an uncaptioned Instagram photo of Bloom with his right hand up to his face -- possibly crying, possibly simply rubbing his eye. The singer removed it after 10 minutes.
