Pop singer Pink says that despite a sometimes difficult relationship with her own mother, she's found being a parent to be one of her greatest joys.
"She's the coolest thing that has ever happened to me," Pink, 33, says of Willow Sage, 2, her daughter with retired motocross racer Carey Hart. Calling her "cheeky and funny," Pink says in the August issue of the Australian edition of GQ that having a child "just totally rearranged my view on life and my outlook, in every way and shape possible.
"I'm still a little bit nuts and I still have a really good time, and I still am me," she adds, "But I wake up and start the day with a cuddle and that is the best thing in the world. My mother was so happy I had a girl, because she said then I would understand what she went through with me."
The "Just Give Me a Reason" singer, born Alecia Moore, confesses that before her daughter's birth, "I didn't want kids. I was terrified. The relationship I had with my mother was really rocky at times. I had moments where I wanted a kid with Carey," she says, but "then it went away. But he always wanted kids and then we did it, and now it's like . . . this is so rad. It's more important than anything we've done. Now I have someone to sing goofy ---- songs to all day and she likes it. She's not judging me. She's probably the only person who doesn't judge me."
Pink and Hart have been married since January 2006. They met at the 2001 X Games in Philadelphia, and after a short breakup and reconciliation, she proposed to him in June 2005 via a "Will You Marry Me?" sign during a race in which he was competing in Mammoth Lakes, Calif.
