Pregnant Olivia Wilde slams subway riders for not offering their seats

Olivia Wilde has taken to Twitter to take to task New York City subway riders who would not offer the heavily pregnant actress a seat.

Using internet slang for “no big deal,” the “House” and “Vinyl” star tweeted Wednesday to her 1.75 million followers, “NBD, able-bodied riders who won’t give your seat to a GIANT preggo. I’ll just stand riiiiight next to your head and pray I go into labor.”

Most people responding to the tweet expressed support for any pregnant woman in such a circumstance, with many commenting on riders’ lack of chivalry. Some questioned politely why film and TV star Wilde, 32 — the daughter of lauded journalists and authors Leslie and Andrew Cockburn and the fiancee of fellow star Jason Sudeikis — was taking a subway rather than more upscale transportation. However, one Twitter commenter, Kyle (@kps427), a self-described “small business owner, NY Giants & Red Sox fan, and proud Episcopalian” who has since made his account private, tweeted, “1. I didn’t tell u to get pregnant 2. Get an Uber (you can afford it) 3. I paid the same amt as you for the subway ride,” according to E! News.

“1. Eat a bag of [expletive],” Wilde responded. “2. That is all.” Shortly afterward, singer John Legend tweeted supportively, “@kps427 @oliviawilde deplorable.”

Wilde announced on April 18 that she and former “Saturday Night Live” star Sudeikis, who turns 41 on Sunday, were expecting their second child. They have a son, Otis, 2. The couple, who reportedly have dated since November 2011, confirmed in January 2013 that they had become engaged.
