The sister of the late music icon Prince filed court papers Tuesday asking for a special administrator to oversee his estate, saying the singer left no will.

Tyka Nelson, the only full sibling of the star who died Thursday at age 57, stated in a probate petition to a Carver County, Minnesota, court, “I do not know of the existence of a will and have no reason to believe that the decedent executed testamentary documents in any form.” TMZ.com, which first reported the filing and obtained a copy of the document, said she asked that Prince’s longtime financial-services provider, Bremer Trust, National Association be appointed administer.

The document lists as additional “interested parties” Prince’s half brothers John Nelson, Alfred Jackson and Omar or Omarr Baker (sources vary); half sisters Norinne Nelson and Sharon Nelson; and a deceased half sister Lorna Nelson. A deceased half brother, Duane Nelson, who spent 12 years as a security guard for Prince until the two acrimoniously parted ways, goes unmentioned.

The document additionally notes, “The decedent has heirs whose identities and addresses need to be determined.”

Attorney Jerry Reisman, of Garden City’s Reisman Peirez Reisman & Capobianco, who has no connection to the estate, told USA Today, “It’s astonishing, absolutely astonishing that he did not have a will,” and predicted, “You’re going to have ‘siblings’ coming out of the woodwork alleging they are siblings.”

Prince’s longtime lawyer, L. Londell McMillan, did not respond to media requests for comment.

The Los Angeles Times estimated the value of Prince’s estate as $300 million, though the paper did not say on what it based that figure.
