'Princess Carter' debuts in dad's song

At two days old, Blue Ivy Carter has already made an appearance in a song.

Her famous parents -- Beyoncé and Jay-Z -- issued a statement that she was delivered naturally at 7 pounds on Saturday. But that's a little too conventional for the child Rihanna has already dubbed "Princess Carter," so she also could be heard crying in a new song "Glory" that Jay-Z released on his Life + Times website Monday filled with the musings of a proud papa.

The song, which appears with a shot of the Empire State Building lit up with blue lights and the line "Life just got REALLY good," is credited to Jay-Z featuring B.I.C.

"Words can't describe what I'm feeling for real, maybe I paint the sky blue," Jay rhymes in the chorus. "My greatest creation was you."

Blue Ivy's birth Saturday at Lenox Hill Hospital on Manhattan's Upper East Side became known through her parents' famous friends offering their congratulations. However, Monday her parents were happy to share their joy. "Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven," they said in a joint statement. "It was the best experience of both of our lives. We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support."

In some ways, "Glory" reveals more about the power couple's life than they ever have in interviews. "Last time the miscarriage was so tragic, we was afraid you'd disappear," Jay-Z says, after revealing that she was conceived in Paris before Beyoncé's photo shoot for her recent "4" album. "But nah, baby, you magic."

What's in a name?

Jay-Z and Beyoncé may have chosen "Ivy" as their baby girl's middle name to represent the Roman numeral IV, or four, People magazine reports. Beyoncé has openly discussed her connection to the number, explaining in a recent documentary that she was born on Sept. 4, Jay-Z was born on Dec. 4 and the two married on April 4. Not to mention that Beyoncé's latest album is entitled "4."
