Princess Diana's dresses, William and Kate's wedding cake up for auction
Several gowns belonging to Britain's late Princess Diana and a slice of royal wedding cake from the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton are among the items to be auctioned on Dec. 5 and 6 by the Beverly Hills firm Julien's Auctions, reports Newsday contributor Frank Lovece. Julien's said a pink Catherine Walker gown worn by Diana to a performance of "La Bohème" at the London Coliseum in 1993 carries an estimate of $60,000 to $80,000, while a Zandra Rhodes gown worn to a 1987 benefit is expected to fetch $80,000 to $100,000. The cake slice, in a presentation tin given to guests and dignitaries at William and Kate's 2011 wedding, is a relative bargain in $1,000-$2,000 range.
