SingerR. Kelly, who was scheduled to perform at the Fashion Meets Music Festival in Columbus, Ohio, over Labor Day weekend has been dropped from the lineup following a backlash on social media, USA Today reports. As soon as the announcement was made that the 47-year-old singer would open the festival on Aug. 29, complaints poured in, mostly on Facebook and Twitter, about his tumultuous legal history, particularly his 2002 indictment on 21 counts of making child pornography. Kelly was found not guilty of those charges in 2008. Festival organizers, who initially defended the selection, took notice of community reaction and decided to remove the controversial performer.
