Pop star Taylor Swift, who has a reputation for writing scathing songs about her former romances, may be penning a new one in the near future. Her fast-burning couplehood with actor Jake Gyllenhaal ended with a phone call - echoing what she has called a 27-second telephone breakup with singer Joe Jonas, which reportedly led to the song "Forever & Always" and verifiably to a 2008 video poking fun at her ex.
Swift and the "Brokeback Mountain" and "Love & Other Drugs" star "spoke before New Year's, and Jake just told her it wasn't working out," an unnamed source says in the newly published issue of Us magazine, which reported the telephone disconnection of two-month relationship. "Taylor is really upset and hurt," the source added. "She doesn't know what she did for him to just put a stop to it. She feels really burned by him."
She and Gyllenhaal, 30, had been introduced in October at the actor's initiative, and became virtually inseparable. They went apple-picking in upstate New York and attended a "Saturday Night Live" broadcast their first weekend together, and took romantic excursions to London and to the Big Sur region of California. By Thanksgiving they were close enough to spend time with each other's families. But they were last seen together on Dec. 9, and he missed her birthday four days later.
"She told her friends that Jake said it was all just going too fast," a source told Us.
