"Jesse James Is a Dead Man" was the title of his 2009 reality show for Spike, and for motorcycle customizer and daredevil Jesse James, it seems more and more prescient these days as far as his spurned spouse, Sandra Bullock, is concerned.

While a representative for the Oscar-winning actress scotched rumors she was seeking a divorce lawyer, there's no indication she's given any response to her cheating husband's apparent desire for reconciliation.

According to People magazine, a friend of James' told the magazine that the 40-year-old father of three "would certainly love for this somehow to go away and that somehow things can be rectified and put back together. The one thing that's most important to him in the whole wide world is that his family comes back together. He will do whatever that takes."

In the meantime, the friend says, James is "spending every free moment with his children" - daughter Chandler, 15, and son Jesse Jr., 12, from his first marriage, to Karla James, and Sunny, 6, from his marriage to porn star Janine Lindemulder - "taking them to school and doing the things they love to do, so this doesn't disrupt their lives too much."

Not helping matters is a new interview Wednesday with Lindemulder, 41, who was the December 1987, Penthouse Pet of the Month before going on to appear in adult films. She told In Touch Weekly that even when they were married, her ex was "a chronic cheater. I feel sorry for Sandra because she was so in love with Jesse that she was blind and gullible."

When your ex-wife is siding with your current wife, you know you're in trouble.

A source told Us magazine likewise, saying James' infidelity was an open secret among employees at his Long Beach, Calif., shop West Coast Choppers, and that tattoo model and stripper Michelle "Bombshell" McGee was "just the first person who has gone public. This is not an isolated incident. When Sandra is away, he gets bored."

Meanwhile, Bullock is back in Los Angeles after spending time with family and friends in her hometown of Austin, Texas, RadarOnline reports. The Web site said she didn't return to the Huntington Beach home she shared with James.
