Richard Belzer gives Nazi salute on 'Good Day New York'

Comedian and "Law & Order: SVU" star Richard Belzer sparked controversy on "Good Day New York" Wednesday, making an off-color comment and telling the production crew, "Say heil to all your colleagues at the other division."

His remarks came after co-host Rosanna Scotto read a viewer's suggestion that co-host Dave Price resembled Belzer enough to play his brother on the NBC show.

Belzer replied with a bawdy suggestion. Price asked whether the live show had a five-second delay and Scotto giggled nervously. Belzer followed with a G-rated spin to the suggestion. He then made his Nazi remark and salute.

Belzer's representative told E! News that the Nazi allusion was a "satirical gesture" toward Fox News, "whose ideology he is opposed to."

Belzer raised the Anti-Defamation League's ire in June over satirical Nazi gestures he made at a Monte Carlo TV festival.

Belzer will appear Wednesday at a retrospective and book-signing at the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington.
