Richard Gere, Padma Lakshmi break up, reports say

ActorRichard Gere and "Top Chef" host Padma Lakshmi have ended their romance, E! News confirms. The camera-shy couple began dating six months ago and managed to escape being photographed during the time they were together. The New York Post's Page Six first reported the breakup. Lakshmi, 44, did not mention the split when she appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" Friday or on "Today" Tuesday. Lakshmi was married to author Salman Rushdie from 2004 to 2007. Gere, 65, is separated from his second wife, actress Carey Lowell, whom he wed in 2002. He was also married to model Cindy Crawford from 1991 to 1995.
