Robert Pattinson has continued his post-heartbreak publicity tour in support of his new film "Cosmopolis," joining director David Cronenberg at the opening bell of the New York Stock Exchange Tuesday and sitting for a live "Good Morning America" interview scheduled for Wednesday morning.

All this followed a busy Monday, taping an interview for Jon Stewart's "The Daily Show," followed by the New York premiere of "Cosmopolis" at the Museum of Modern Art and an after-party at the PH-D Rooftop Lounge at Manhattan's Dream Downtown hotel. The movie opens Friday.

Observers told People magazine that Pattinson, 26 -- who had secluded himself at his friend Reese Witherspoon's Ojai, Calif., ranch after learning his live-in girlfriend and fellow "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart had cheated on him -- looked relaxed, hugging well-wishers who said hello.

In his "Daily Show" interview, which aired Monday night, Pattinson bantered with the host, who only alluded to the breakup.

At one point he joked to Stewart: "My biggest problem in life is I'm cheap and I didn't hire a publicist" to help him navigate the past three weeks of intense media scrutiny following the breakup.

Pattinson does not have a personal publicist; separate firms handled the movie's publicity and the MoMA premiere. Pattinson is also scheduled to do a live interview with MTV.com Thursday.

Also Tuesday, Variety reported Pattinson will play T.E. Lawrence, the charismatic British Army officer famed as Lawrence of Arabia, in the cast of Werner Herzog's "Queen of the Desert," starring Naomi Watts as English writer Gertrude Bell.
