Robin Roberts gets ready for surgery

"Good Morning America" co-anchor Robin Roberts will undergo a bone transplant procedure Thursday as part of her treatment for myelodysplastic syndrome, she told readers of her "Robin's Journey" blog Tuesday.
In the blog, she wrote, "last Sunday to lift my spirits I threw a little party at my apartment for my 'GMA' family. The next morning I walked through the hospital doors, with my guardian angels -- mom & dad -- back together and blazing a trail ahead of me."
Her mother, Lucimarian, died Aug. 31, the day after Roberts announced she was leaving the show for treatment. Her father, Lawrence, a former Tuskegee Airman, died in 2004.
She added, "The start of last week went well but the daily chemo / treatment caught up to me by the weekend. My body is so weak but not my mind."
"Good Morning America" said Roberts' doctor, Gail Roboz, will appear on Thursday's edition to give an update on the transplant.
