William and Kate have named their little prince, George Alexander Louis. And I'm sure as any new parents can attest, coming up with the perfect name wasn't an easy task. After all, it's the first big responsibility you have as a parent. 
 Many newbie moms and dads often think long and hard about what to name their little one -- and I'm sure it was no different for the royal baby. So why did Will and Kate name the little prince, George, and what is the meaning behind it? Let's take a look. 
 When you look up the name George, it's apparent why they chose it. According to <a href="http://Nameberry.com" target="_blank">Nameberry.com</a>, a popular baby naming site, the name George means strong, solid, royal and saintly. "George was the name of the king of Britain for 116 straight years, as well as the patron saint of England, Saint George, who, by slaying the dragon became a symbol of good conquering evil." 
 Baby George was likely named after his great-great-grandfather King George V! (Queen Elizabeth's father), although one of William's cousins on Diana's side is also called George, according to <a href="http://BabyCenter.com" target="_blank">BabyCenter.com</a>. 
 The U.S. Government Social Security Administration in 2012 ranked the name George at 166, and according to <a href="http://BehindtheName.com" target="_blank">BehindtheName.com</a>, in England and Wales, George came in at number 12 in popularity. 
 There are many famous George's as well: the first president of the United States George Washington, the Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw, Beatles guitarist George Harrison, comedian George Carlin, director George Lucas and actor George Clooney, to name a few. 
 A few celebrities also named their sons George, including Kristin Scott Thomas, Jane Kaczmarek and Eva Herzigova. According to <a href="http://Nameberry.com" target="_blank">Nameberry.com</a>, George Forman&nbsp; NAMED all five of his sons George, as well. 
 And let's not forget pop culture references to the name George: "Curious George," "George of the Jungle," George Costanza from "Seinfeld," George Jetson and George Jefferson. 
 Will the name George take off in the United States? Linda Murray, global editor-in-chief of <a href="http://BabyCenter.com" target="_blank">BabyCenter.com</a> predicts a rise in popularity for the name. "Like many young new parents today, Will and Kate have picked a name with retro appeal. George was a beloved king and the name is strong and traditional so it's a perfect choice for the future king." 
 On the other hand, Elena Mauer, deputy editor of TheBump.com has a different opinion. "We're going to see a lot of Americans wanting the stroller, diaper bag, car seat and other accessories that Kate uses for the royal baby, but I don't think the name George will be one that Americans will be into," she said. "It’s a powerful name that maybe seems like it comes with a lot of responsibility. It doesn’t have a modern ring to it, and there aren’t really any nicknames for it. Alexander, on the other hand, is already a popular boy’s name and falls in the top 10 names according to the Social Security Administration, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see it spike even more in popularity." 
 The royals are famous for their family nicknames -- Will is Wombat, Harry is Ginger. Murray said: "It will be fun to see what they end up calling George at home. Might I suggest Galaxy? It's a fun blend of George and Alex."

From the time a woman gets pregnant, most likely she was inundated with stories from other moms about their experience giving birth — and royal mommy-to-be Kate Middleton is likely no exception 
 I remember hearing stories that helped me get excited while others I could have lived without. Before I had my daughter, there were a few things friends and family confided in me that helped me embrace the whole birthing process. 
 So while the world waits for the royal baby's arrival, Katie Bugbee, managing editor of Care.com and mother of two preschoolers, provided nine things Kate Middleton should know before heading to the hospital, through her own personal experience.  Here are nine lessons learned from the delivery room: 
 1. You will lose all sense of pride. "I remember trying to cover up in front of the nurses," said Bugbee. "But by the second day you’ve been poked, prodded and looked at by every doctor, nurse and orderly in the building. I think the food crew even saw my bum. And as the prudest person in the U.S., I couldn’t have cared less." 
 2. All the planning you’ve done, might go out the window. "I spent an entire weekend in couples’ Lamaze class," she said. "I had a birth plan paired with birthing music. My pantry and freezer were stocked with Popsicles and carb-filled foods to fuel me (and cool me) for the hours spent in labor&nbsp;before&nbsp;we headed to the hospital. And then, two weeks before my due date, I woke up feeling funny. I went to the emergency room and found out I had a rare form of pre-eclampsia and I needed an emergency c-section. No Popsicles. And no Beyoncé. 
 3. Screaming at your husband/partner will help. "It really will, and here’s the secret: Anything you say during labor cannot be held against you," said Bugbee. "This also applies to the first year of birth. Anything said between the hours of 12-4 a.m. can't be brought up the next day." 
 4. Breast-feeding might be harder than anything you’ve ever done. "This is what my husband tells any pregnant woman he knows," said Bugbee. "It took machines, lactation consultants, a devoted husband and at least four hands to get my first baby to eat. After the fifth day and still using pumps, massage techniques, gels and creams, I looked at my husband and said 'When we met freshman year of college, did you ever imagine you’d be handling my boobs this way?!' But honestly, you should let people help you. It will bring you closer than you ever thought possible. And, once it happens, you’ll find your groove." 
 5. It’s OK for the baby to sleep in the hospital nursery. "So many moms will tell you that their baby slept next to them every night in the hospital," she said. "Well, good for them. But I bet they didn’t sleep one wink. You will hear every gurgle your future prince or princess makes. Let a nurse take him or her to a nursery for the night, and bring you your baby when it’s time to eat. You’re going to have this baby for the next 60 or more years. You might as well nap now." 
 6. Ask for help. Truly. "Maybe women used to do this all by themselves back in the day and 'yay' for them," said Bugbee. "But if you have the opportunity to have night nurses, nannies&nbsp;and loving family help you with this newborn — take it. You are still in charge (or, the baby is). Once you feel like they are intruding more than helping, you can start cutting back their hours." 
 7. Find a new-mom friend. "A friend will help you break out of the comfort zone of your sweatpants and jammies," said Bugbee. "Make a goal to get out of the house for at least an hour each day, breast-feed in a public area (gasp!) or talk through concerns — with someone. Even if it's your Mum or Pippa." 
 8. Don’t let Harry and his smartphone camera anywhere near your birth. "We’ve seen the Vegas pics. Enough said." 
 9. You’re the Queen for the day. "Don’t worry about anyone else, the schedules or the media," she said. "This day is about you, your husband and your baby. And once this beautiful bundle is born, make sure&nbsp;everyone takes precious care of you — while you care for your new addition."

Royal baby watchers outside St. Mary's Hospital got a new tip from the Duchess of Cornwall Tuesday, who gave the media an update on the expected due date. 
 According to the&nbsp;<a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2364385/Kate-Middletons-royal-baby-date-hint-Duchess-Cornwall-expect-end-week.html" target="_blank">Daily Mail</a>, Camilla Parker Bowles and her husband were visiting Little Harbour children’s hospice at Porthpean where she announced her predicitions for the arrival of Kate Middleton and Prince William's baby. 
 "We are all just waiting by the telephone," she said. "We are hopeful that by the end of the week he or she will be here." 
 Perhaps the journalists and betting companies waiting outside of Lindo Wing can take a break and return to their posts at the end of the week -- if Camilla is correct.

It's certainly busy outside of St. Mary's Hospital in London, but there's one thing missing from the Lindo Wing: The royal baby. 
 Prince William appears calm, playing a game of polo days before his first-born child is set to arrive, but the rest of London is not quite as patient as the father-to-be. Officials have not released the baby's due date, according to The Associated Press, so the whole country -- and world -- has been left guessing.&nbsp; 
 Representatives from a betting company arrived outside of the hospital Friday sporting green onesies with baby masks and fake crowns. Don't be fooled, this is not time off. The company brought along a chalkboard with baby name predictions written in pink and blue chalk. Alexandra (one of Queen Elizabeth's middle names) and Charlotte hold the top spots for girls names while George (the name of The Queen's father) and James reign as the top boys names. Of course, there are the not-so-serious names, like Pocahontas for a girl and Hashtag for a boy. 
 Kate Middleton and Prince William will have to prepare for a bigger crowd of media outlets setting up stepladders and camera equipment outside of the hospital. NBC News in London has had a calendar taped to the wall of due date predictions since the beginning of July.&nbsp; 
 All of London remains a hospital waiting room, its citizens akin to impatient family members. Soon enough, the betting company's chalkboard -- and the wooden easel placed outside Buckingham Palace -- will reveal the royal baby's name.&nbsp;

Where does Baby Sussex rank in royal succession?

When the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's baby is born in mid-July, the announcement will follow long-held traditions of the British monarchy, with a nod to modern technology, according to multiple reports. 
 Queen Elizabeth II, the child's great-grandmother, will be apprised of the birth before the public, as will other members of both families. A palace staffer will hand a notice, signed by the medical team, to a driver who will take it from the hospital to Buckingham Palace, accompanied by police escort. There the birth details will be written on palace-embossed foolscap paper and mounted on an easel in the forecourt. Immediately, an announcement will go out on social media. As well, a 41-gun salute will commemorate the birth. 
 Prince William and mother-to-be Kate Middleton's spokesman said Wednesday that they do not know the baby's gender. 
 The British newspaper The Guardian said Middleton would deliver at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's hospital in London's Paddington district. Both William and his younger brother, Harry, were born there.

Moms everywhere know this: When it comes to being pregnant, everybody carries differently. 
 Nothing illustrates this better than the burgeoning bods of reality queen <a href="/topics//Kim_Kardashian">Kim Kardashian</a> and future queen <a href="/topics//Kate_Middleton">Kate</a> <a href="/topics//Kate_Middleton">Middleton</a> (both reportedly scheduled to deliver around the same time). The latter is the envy of the pregnant population -- carrying gracefully, all in her tummy. She always looks classic, appropriate and beautiful. Poor Kim, who is sporting a big, allover pregnancy, has been pummeled by the press for her, shall we say, questionable wardrobe choices. 
 And Kim and Kate aren't the only celebs flaunting a baby bump. Penélope Cruz, expecting her second child, donned a slinky black bikini in St. Barth's not long ago. Tiny Fergie has been photographed wearing voluminous (maybe too voluminous), bright clothes; and Jessica <a href="/topics//Jessica_Simpson">Simpson</a> is dressing and looking much better for baby No. 2, often wearing her own line of maternity clothes. 
 Like us mere mortals, pregnant celebs are just regular folks when it comes to dressing their changing bodies. Maternity style expert <a href="/topics//Liz_Lange">Liz Lange</a>, whose collection is sold at Target, says that "no two women develop the same way." And celebrity stylist Phillip Bloch has words of encouragement: "When you're pregnant, you may not feel it, but you are naturally sexy. You don't have to sacrifice style, but you do have to shift it a little bit because, above all, comfort is key." 
 No matter how you're carrying, <a href="/topics//Liz_Lange">Lange</a> has one piece of advice that works for everyone: "My big mantra, is that pregnant women look better and slimmer in fitted looks that are closer to their bodies." In other words, so long muumuus.

 "She's my ideal," says <a href="http://www.newsday.com/topics//Liz_Lange">Lange</a>. "Her look is classic, timeless and feminine, and she's lucky because she's really carrying only in the stomach. She mixes high-low, <a href="/topics//Topshop">Topshop</a> with couture, and I love that, and she has single-handedly brought back the dress." For Kate types, <a href="/topics//Liz_Lange">Lange</a> suggests slim, Empire-waist frocks to the knee, with some detail in the middle such as a knot or ruching. Also good: color, patterns and plaids. 
 <a href="/topics//Jessica_Simpson">Jessica Simpson</a> 
 <a href="/topics//Jessica_Simpson">Simpson</a> carries frontally, too, but unlike Middleton, her bump is big and starts right below her chest (also sizable). Says <a href="http://www.newsday.com/topics//Jessica_Simpson">Simpson</a>, "I gravitate to styles that are sexy and stylish, but above all, comfort is key." To that end, this time around <a href="http://www.newsday.com/topics//Jessica_Simpson">Simpson</a> is showing a little skin but wearing easy clothes, including some from her own collection. 
 Kim <a href="/topics//Kim_Kardashian">Kardashian</a> 
 "I'm not jumping on the bashing Kim bandwagon," says maternity designer <a href="http://www.newsday.com/topics//Liz_Lange">Lange</a>. But she says some of the reality star's looks weren't "as flattering as they could have been." Diplomatic, indeed. If you have overall weight gain like <a href="/topics//Kim_Kardashian">Kardashian</a>, "highlight length, not width," says <a href="http://www.newsday.com/topics//Liz_Lange">Lange</a>, also suggesting color blocking, darker on the bottom. A single color also works, say <a href="http://www.newsday.com/topics//Liz_Lange">Lange</a>, and avoid "peplum tops at all costs." 
 Fergie 
 Petite gals like Fergie "can easily get overwhelmed by maternity clothes," says <a href="/topics//Liz_Lange">Liz Lange</a>. "She should wear pieces that bring her figure in, showing her smaller proportions." Lange suggests flirty dresses and more-fitted maxis. Remember, says Lange, for pregnant women, its all about "proportion, proportion, proportion and using color and the right scale of print and pattern." 
 Penélope Cruz 
 "She's the dramatic type, and so va-va-voom, Penélope could pull off big prints and lots of color," says <a href="http://www.newsday.com/topics//Liz_Lange">Liz Lange</a>, who recommends that people carrying like Cruz go for tie-dye and large hits of bold color. "And show a little skin when you're pregnant," says Lange. "Your naked belly is not right for the streets of New York or L.A., but for many of us, we have cleavage for the first time ever -- show it off." 
 HEELS? LOSE 'EM 
 Maternity style expert <a href="http://www.newsday.com/topics//Liz_Lange">Liz Lange</a> is loathe to criticize <a href="/topics//Kim_Kardashian">Kim Kardashian</a>'s style. In fact, she goes the other way, saying, "She's staying true to what she believes her personal style is, and if she feels good wearing it, I'm happy for her." 
 But Lange does have one serious piece of advice for <a href="http://www.newsday.com/topics//Kim_Kardashian">Kardashian</a> and other high-heel wearers. "Nobody likes a mile-high-style stiletto better than I do, but to me, that's a pregnancy don't. It's uncomfortable to look at and probably to wear. Nobody wants to see you off balance. Opt for a lower-wedge stacked heel or a ballet flat." 
 Adds celebrity stylist Phillip Bloch, "Flats are everywhere now and for fall. You'll be right in style and sooooo much more comfortable."
