Royals watchers Tuesday got some juicy tidbits -- with a side of Brussels sprouts.
That's the vegetable that England's newlywed Prince William and Kate Middleton -- now Princess Catherine -- ordered to be among the provisions stocked in their private honeymoon villa in the island nation of Seychelles, which is in the Indian Ocean just off Madagascar. That seemingly small detail in the cover story of the new Vanity Fair looms significant.
Why? Because Brussels sprouts are high in folic acid -- which scientists say is necessary for fertility in both men and women -- spurring speculation the two might want to start a family soon.
Among other highlights of writer Kate Nicholls' story:
The couple watched TV coverage of their wedding between receptions on April 29, joined by William's brother, Prince Harry.
William turned down his father Prince Charles' offer of a larger staff.
An amusing wedding toast from Princess Catherine's father, Michael Middleton.
"I knew things were getting serious when I found a helicopter in my garden," he toasted. "I thought, 'Gosh, he must like my daughter.' I did wonder then how William was going to top this if they ever got engaged."
