Ryan Gosling, Eva Mendes second baby girl, report says
Days before the release of Ryan Gosling’s new movie, word has leaked out that on April 29, Gosling and his longtime girlfriend, actress Eva Mendes, welcomed their second child, Amada Lee Gosling.
TMZ.com, citing the birth certificate, said the infant was born at 8:03 a.m. that day at Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California, where the couple’s daughter Esmeralda Amada was born on Sept. 12, 2014. The document lists the mother as Eva De La Caridad Mendez and the father as Ryan Thomas Gosling.
The girls’ shared name Amada “was my grandmother’s name,” Mendes, 42, told the online fashion magazine VioletGrey.com in 2014. “It means ‘beloved’ in Spanish.” Mendes’ character was named Amada Juarez in the 2007 movie “We Own the Night.”
The actress also told the website, regarding her first daughter’s name, that she and Gosling, 35, “both love the Esmeralda character from the Victor Hugo novel ‘The Hunchback of Notre-Dame’ and just think it’s a beautiful name.”
While neither the couple nor their representatives has commented on the birth, Gosling, in the new issue of People magazine, says of fatherhood, “It sounds so clichéd, but I never knew that life could be this fun and this great.”
Mendes and Best Actor Academy Award-nominee Gosling (for 2006’s “Half Nelson”) have been a couple since playing parents in the 2013 film “The Place Beyond the Pines,” shot in 2011.
Gosling’s action-comedy “The Nice Guys,” also starring Russell Crowe, is set for release May 20.
