Sarah Hyland, Matt Prokop break up after five years together

Sarah Hyland, who plays eldest child Haley Dunphy on ABC's "Modern Family," has broken up with her boyfriend of five years, actor Matt Prokop. Her representative Tuesday confirmed the split to Us Weekly. She and Prokop, 24, had starred in the 2011 Disney Channel telefilm "Geek Charming" and he appeared in the 2012 "Disneyland" episode of her show, which on Monday won its fifth Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series. Prokop's most recent tweet, on Aug. 17, said, "Here comes that sun again . . . Means another day without you my friend," prompting commenters to inquire if he and Hyland, 23, had parted ways.
