Season 17 “The Bachelor” star Sean Lowe has thanked well-wishers responding to news that he and his wife, Catherine Giudici, are expecting their first child.
“Thank you to everyone for the kind words today!” Lowe, 32, tweeted. “Catherine and I are so excited!”
On Tuesday, the real-estate developer had posted an Instagram image of himself and Giudici — to whom he proposed on the March 2013 finale and married the following year — sitting together on a couch, with his hand on her belly. “It’s happening! I’m going to be a dad!” he wrote. Simultaneously, Giudici, 29, posted a black-and-white Instagram image from the same series, captioned, “Hey baby :)”
She had posted an April Fool’s prank on Instagram this year, saying she was 17 weeks along before revealing she was joking.
The couple, who married in January 2014 in a live, televised wedding, is one of five from the “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” franchise to have married after on-air proposals. The others are: Ashley Hebert and the Roslyn-raised J.P. Rosenbaum from “The Bachelorette” Season 7, who have one child; Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter, from that show’s first season, who have two; Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney, from “The Bachelor” Season 13; and Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried from “The Bachelorette” Season 9.
