Gomez Facebook hacker sentenced
A British McDonald's employee was sentenced to a year in jail after pleading guilty to hacking into singer Selena Gomez's Facebook page, Newsday contributor Frank Lovece reports. The e-Crime Unit of London's Metropolitan Police Service said Gareth Crosskey, 21, of Lancing, West Sussex, was arrested in July after the FBI traced a January 2011 hacking to Britain. The British newspaper The Sun revealed Monday that it had been Gomez's account that Crosskey hacked, by posing as her stepfather, Brian Teefey, the page's administrator, and persuading Facebook staffers to reset the password.
