Prominently out actor Neil Patrick Harris and his partner, David Burtka, were honored with the Rand Schrader Distinguished Achievement Award, and transgender activist Chaz Bono with the Board of Directors Award, at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's 40th Anniversary Gala Saturday. "Glee" star Jane Lynch and actor David Arquette, who has a transgendered sibling, presented the awards in a ceremony hosted by Leslie Jordan and attended by Meredith Baxter, Sara Gilbert, Karina Smirnoff, former Major League Baseball outfielder Billy Bean and others. The center offers medical and senior care, addiction recovery, transitional living and other services.
