Sylvester Stallone KOs another death hoax

Sylvester Stallone responded Monday to the second death hoax in his name in two years.

“Please ignore this stupidity,” the “Rocky,” “Rambo” and “Expendables” film-series star wrote on Twitter and Instagram, where he posted a message from an evidently fake account that proclaimed the actor’s death from prostate cancer.

“SO LONG CHAMP,” read the false message. “Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone died early this morning after his battle with prostate cancer, the actor kept his illness a secret, but in the end he couldn’t beat it.”

Accompanying the hoax message were two photos of a decrepit and haggard Stallone with thinned and patchy hair — images the fact-checking website Snopes.com traced to previously released stills from Stallone’s upcoming “Creed II,” in which his character, Rocky Balboa, suffers from cancer.

“Alive and well and happy and healthy,” Stallone, 71, assured fans. “Still punching!”

Hoaxers previously declared Stallone dead in September 2016.
