Sylvester Stallone has asked for an end to "the speculation and questionable reporting" surrounding the death Friday of his 36-year-old son.

"When a parent loses a child there is no greater pain," the "Rocky" star told TMZ.com Monday, three days after Sage Stallone's body was discovered at his Hollywood Hills home. "Therefore I am imploring people to respect my talented son's memory and feel compassion for his loving mother Sasha [Czack]."

He went on to say, "This agonizing loss will be felt for the rest of our lives," adding, "Sage was our first child and the center of our universe and I am humbly begging for all to have my son's memory and soul left in peace."

Lt. Cheryl MacWillie of the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner told the Los Angeles Times that Sage Stallone's autopsy was completed Sunday morning, although no cause of death can be determined until toxicology results are in.

Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter told The Associated Press that while investigators recovered containers for prescription medication, he could not yet say whether these played a role in Stallone's death.

TMZ reported Monday that the investigation is now with LAPD Robbery-Homicide detectives, who according to the website handle high-profile cases, whether or not foul play is suspected.
