"Jersey Shore" star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino huffed on "Good Morning America" Wednesday that the "Dancing With the Stars" judges "were trying to make a statement" when they eliminated him from the competition Tuesday night. "It's kinda like the first day of class when you see the most popular kid in class and wanna make an example of them," he said.
With dance partner Karina Smirnoff at his side, Sorrentino, 27, told "GMA's" George Stephanopoulos, "I really did think I did my best. That's why when it was elimination day, I said to myself, 'If I get eliminated, I'm gonna hold my head and know that I tried my best and put it all out there on the floor.' "
His remarks were a bit more considered when contrasted with his storming out on Monday's show, when judge Bruno Tonioli called the duo's tango "a terrible mess," a view echoed by fellow judges Carrie Ann Inaba ("a rough ride") and Len Goodman ("bad throughout").
