It's official: Tiger Woods and his wife divorced Monday, following a nine-month drama of infidelity revelations, lost endorsement contracts and a career downturn.

Entering a judgment calling the marriage "irretrievably broken," Woods, 34, and his Swedish-born wife, Elin Nordegren, 30, were divorced before Judge Judy Pittman Biebel during a brief hearing in her chambers at the Bay County Circuit Court in Panama City, Fla., The Associated Press reports. The judgment provides for shared parenting of the couple's two children, according to a joint statement posted on Woods' website.

Woods and Nordegren have a daughter, Sam Alexis, 3, and a son, Charlie Axel, 1. "Once we came to the decision that our marriage was at an end, the primary focus of our amicable discussions has been to ensure their future well-being," the statement read. "The weeks and months ahead will not be easy for them as we adjust to a new family situation, which is why our privacy must be a principal concern."

The divorce document says Nordegren is formally restoring her maiden name, and that she and Woods have each completed a four-hour parenting course, according to TMZ.com.

Woods - who most recently tied for 28th place in the 92nd PGA Championship on Aug. 15, and whose 78th-place finish at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational the week before marked the worst 72-hole showing of his professional career - had finalized a settlement on July 3 and 4 that may reportedly grant Nordegren $100 million. While she signed a prenuptial agreement before the couple's October 2004 marriage, sources told People magazine it was renegotiated in the wake of the scandal that began emerging after Woods crashed his sport utility vehicle into a neighbor's tree last Nov. 27, with an enraged Nordegren nearby.

Woods subsequently conceded "the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children."

A source told People that Nordegren is "feeling OK about all this. She's been through hell but handled herself with such dignity. And now she's got a whole new life ahead of her."
