Valerie Harper: I'm 'feeling very good' after cancer diagnosis
Emmy-winning actress Valerie Harper says she is "feeling very good" a year and a half after being diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and that the disease is not progressing, Us Weekly reports. "It is going the other way. It is looking better and better, each test. It's incurable, but that's OK," Harper, 74, told the magazine Monday during an event at NYU's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. In January 2013, the "Rhoda" star was diagnosed with leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, a rare form of cancer in which malignant cells invade the meninges, the three fluid-filled membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Harper says she wants to continue performing and a couple of Broadway shows have been offered.
