What will be some of the big entertainment and celebrity-related stories in 2013? You don't need a palm reader to see what we'll have on our hands.
Famous babies
From Hollywood royalty to real-life royalty, celebrated couples who are expecting this year include England's Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, the duchess of Cambridge; the just-announced Kim Kardashian and Kanye West; Jessica Simpson and her boyfriend Eric Johnson; Channing Tatum and his wife of three years, actress-dancer Jenna Dewan-Tatum; and "Cougar Town" co-star Busy Philipps and her screenwriter husband Marc Silverstein.
Wedding watch
Academy Award-winner Angelina Jolie and two-time nominee Brad Pitt, who have been together since 2005 and have six children, may finally be wed: Pitt's spokeswoman, Cynthia Pett-Dante, on April 13 confirmed their engagement after Jolie was photographed wearing a diamond engagement ring: "Yes, it's confirmed. It is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy." However, the representative added, "There's no date set at this time."
Major movies
"The Avengers" assembled record-breaking audiences, so the upcoming "Iron Man 3" (May 3), the Superman reboot "Man of Steel" (June 14) and Hugh Jackman, reprising the title character in the sixth X-Men movie, "The Wolverine" (July 26), could attract superheroic numbers.
In the same adventure-fiction vein, Johnny Depp stars as sidekick Tonto opposite Armie Hammer as "The Lone Ranger" (July 3). There's also the sequel "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" (Nov. 22) and the much anticipated zombie-novel adaptation, "World War Z" (June 21), starring Brad Pitt -- opening the same day as the Disney/Pixar prequel "Monsters University." Director Sam Raimi's "Oz: The Great and Powerful" (March 8) adapts an L. Frank Baum book set before the famed 1939 movie-musical. And Guillermo del Toro offers his take on Japanese-style giant monsters in "Pacific Rim" (July 12)

And that ever-reliable newsmaker Lindsay Lohan, originally of Merrick and Cold Spring Harbor, learns on Jan. 15 whether a Los Angeles court will sentence her to up to 245 days in jail now that she's had her probation revoked in her 2011 shoplifting conviction.
