Well-wishers flock to Michael Bublé over son’s cancer

Sympathy and support for Michael Bublé and his family have continued to pour onto social media after the singer’s announcement that his 3-year-old son, Noah, has been diagnosed with cancer.

“Our thoughts & prayers are with you and your beautiful family. All our love to Noah. - Rod xxx,” tweeted pop music icon Rod Stewart, while singer-actor Harry Connick Jr. wrote, “Thinking of @MichaelBuble and his family... let’s all pray for Noah so he can win this fight...”

Nancy Sinatra, daughter of legendary crooner Frank Sinatra and a onetime music star herself, wrote, “Hang tough, Michael and family. Like my dad always said, ‘Don’t despair.’ @MichaelBuble Thinking of you and sending prayers.”

Others well-wishers include talk-show hosts Ellen DeGeneres and Sharon Osbourne, singers Josh Groban and Carnie Wilson, and former CBS News anchor Dan Rather.

When informed of Noah’s diagnosis, actress Shannen Doherty — herself fighting breast cancer — told “Entertainment Tonight” on Saturday at an American Cancer Society gala in Beverly Hills, “I can’t even begin to touch that one, to be honest, because it’s a 3-year-old. I would imagine your child having cancer is devastating [to] a parent.” Doherty, 45, advised the Bublé family, “Just trust in your doctors. Make sure you have amazing doctors, a great team,” and she touted such organizations as the American Cancer Society and Stand Up to Cancer that are contributing to “so much research that we have much better chances now.”

“Stay positive,” she concluded. “That positivity, that outlook on life that you can get through something, it actually does get you through.”

On Friday, 41-year-old Grammy-winner Bublé confirmed reports that Noah — the elder of his two children with actress Luisana Lopilato, his wife of five years — “is currently undergoing treatment in the US. We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children,” he posted on Facebook. “Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well. . . . We have a long journey in front of us and hope that with the support of family, friends and fans around the world, we will win this battle, God willing.”
