Woman jailed in Alec Baldwin stalking case

A woman who works in the Canadian film industry was arrested in Manhattan and charged with aggravated harassment, after she was accused of stalking "30 Rock" star Alec Baldwin.
Genevieve Sabourin, 40, whom the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. said is from the Montreal suburb of Candiac, was in jail awaiting arraignment Monday, an NYPD spokesman told CNN. She had been booked at the 20th Precinct after having been arrested in front of Baldwin's Upper West Side apartment, where the actor has not lived since moving in with his fiancee, Hilaria Thomas, late last year.
"As you know, stalking is a serious issue, so we've turned this matter over to the New York Police Department," Baldwin's spokesman, Matthew Hiltzik, told Newsday.
Sabourin went to Baldwin's home in the Hamptons on March 31, the weekend that Baldwin, 54, proposed to Thomas, 28, according to reports. She then attended a Lincoln Center screening of "Last Tango in Paris," where Baldwin was featured on a Q&A panel, according to the multiple reports. She has reportedly written the actor emails and texts declaring her love and requesting money.
Law enforcement officials told TMZ.com that when Sabourin appeared at Baldwin's Manhattan apartment building Sunday night and asked to be let in, the doorman notified Baldwin in the Hamptons. Police arrested Sabourin shortly afterward.
Sabourin, whose LinkedIn profile lists her as a film producer, served as the unit publicist on the 2002 Eddie Murphy flop "The Adventures of Pluto Nash," according to her filmography at the industry database InBaseline.com. Baldwin had an uncredited cameo in that science-fiction comedy, though it was unclear if he and Sabourin met on the set.
