Actor-producer David Hasselhoff seemed to be having some fun with his fans after tweeting a photo of himself appearing to propose to his Welsh girlfriend, Hayley Roberts, in Australia on Monday. "Tried it again on top of the Sydney harbour bridge!" he wrote, alluding to two tweets last Sept. 18 in which he "tried to pop the question" on a Capetown, South Africa, hilltop, and then "popped the question in the dressing room" at an unspecified event. "She's still having none of it!"
Immediately following the Harbour Bridge photo, he coyly tweeted, "What do you think she said!?!?!" accompanied by a shot of the two kissing. This led to widespread reports that Hasselhoff, 59, had proposed to Roberts, 31. He has been married twice before, to actresses Catherine Hickland and Pamela Bach.
But apparently it was not so. "The truth is I'm having a fantastic time with this lovely lady but at this time we have no plans to marry," Hasselhoff told People magazine yesterday. "But who knows? As they say in Wales, 'Cymru Am Byth!' or Wales forever!"
